I’m so glad I have these pictures from my college graduation! I’ll always be grateful to CJ for being the man you chose to share your life with. I never had to worry if you were being treated right and he made that clear from the beginning. CJ was a great example of a man from the moment I met him. He was a leader with great moral principles, who clearly loved those around him. He was a fiery person who shared the same passion for sports that I do. One thing I’ll always remember…whenever it was time to leave, he would come outside to see us off every time, without fail. And it always made me feel special and that he cared. He had a way with people like that. People say when someone passes away, the first memory that fades is the voice. I’ll never forget the sound of the excitement he greeted me with. The “yo man! What’s going on, how you feeling?” He fought so honorably until the very end and he never showed any signs of weakness, even as the cancer took over. His never wavering positivity given his circumstance is something I will always carry with me. He was a great example of how somebody should view life and the challenges it brings. I, along with so many others, will miss him dearly. But I take peace in knowing he’s no longer suffering and that his memory will live on with those who knew and loved him.
