I loved my Uncle Ed. Finding my American roots, after being young abroad, in a mind so invigorating and a personality so authentic was wonderful. He was a great big brother to my Papa and a fine human being. Seeing his beautiful grandsons and his family thrive and grow was undoubtedly his greatest pleasure. They will carry his legacy of thought. I am certain that loosing his mobility and ability to read and see had begun to leash his spirit. Ed now soars free, in his inimitable way.
