Callie's obituary
Callie Virginia Miller Tharpe was born November 1, 1951, to the late Gussie Miller Dunn and Van Huston in Laurens County, Georgia. She was educated in the Bibb County School System and graduated from Ballard Hudson High School. She later studied Cosmetology at Macon Vocational School.
She worked as a hairdresser, a nursing assistant, and was employed for many years at Riley’s Pick and Pay. She was also an ordained Evangelist and was known to many as Prophetess Callie. But to her family, she was always Gin.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, LaShunya Miller.
She is loved and survived by her daughter, Quilisa Miller. She has two granddaughters, Densua Bonner-Hicks and Jessica Miller, and a grandson, Savion Miller. She has seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a loving aunt, Reverend Lusora Brown, and her closest friend, Ms. Portia Johnson. Gin also leaves behind several siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Let’s also mention Pepper and Greg, who she lovingly referred to as her grand dogs.
My mommy is already missed by many. She will be forever remembered for her smile, her generous nature, and that something special that was uniquely her. It was her wish to be cremated. Her life will forever be celebrated in the legacy she left behind.
