On behalf of Bui Le and our family, we extend our deepest gratitude to you for your attendance, for making time in your busy life to show your respect and to share your condolences with us. In life and in death, Bui plays many roles and is many things to different people. As God would have it, Bui is about the love of Jesus and the grace of our Blessed Virgin Mary. These virtues shine through in her eyes and are shown in her smile. Her discipleship lay in how she greets everyone she meets, how she cares for everyone, how she takes in abandoned babies into her home, how she shares what she has with others, and how she never fails to extend beyond herself to help everyone. No one leaves her house without being fed and no church collection finishes without her contribution; no matter how small it might be. In the final moment of her life when she told me she is going to be with our Blessed Mother, she wanted me to share the food and drink I had prepared for her with other people. Her last wish, before she opened her eyes wide to greet our Blessed Lady of Fatima, was to invite everyone to come together and share a meal in celebration of her life and her death. Her last wish, guided by the Holy Spirit, for those who she left behind is to love one another, as God loves her. Hence, in her honor, our family would like to invite you to join us for a simple:

Update from June 5, 2025

Dear Friends and Family.
THANK YOU for being with us to honor and remember our Mother, Maria Bui Le. Your presence means more than words can express. Whether you came to pray, attend the mass, or the burial, know that you have comforted us with your silence and your presence was a true gift.
In times of sorrow, we are reminded of how precious our human connections are and how deeply love endures. In loss we celebrate life and the preciousness of what we do have within our reach.
In our Mom's honor, we hope you carry with you the memory of her grace, her strength, her unwavering faith, her love for all things great and small; thus, are able to feel God's presence in everyone and with everything around you. In case you are not able to make it, please allow me to share the words from one of my Mom's guiding prayers, that of St. Francis of Assissi and my eulogy, which will not be delivered at the funeral mass because it is too long. Here, oblige me the honor of sharing both below:
"Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi"
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life

My eulogy in honor of my Mom:

Love. Loyalty. Family. Faith. Devotion. Sacrifice.
This is what my mother, Maria Bui, is about.

She lived over 92 years—a long life shaped by strength, resilience, and most of all, grace.
The final chapter of her life was marked by a difficult, prolonged journey with dementia—one that stretched more than two decades.
For the first ten years, her condition was misunderstood and misdiagnosed.
It complicated her care, isolated her, and tested the endurance and compassion of everyone around her.
God gave my Mom a heavy cross to bear and that she did, with strength, resiliency, and fierceness.
Her fierceness often showed through—tempered by a quiet charm that softened her bold spirit.

But in those final 12 years—especially the last six, when I became her full-time caregiver—I came to see her more clearly than ever before.
She was no longer the commanding matriarch many remembered.
In her vulnerability, in her confusion, in her need and fragility, she became something even greater: a living image of God’s grace.
She was, without a doubt, His greatest gift to me.

Caring for her 24/7 was not easy.
She became too much for others to manage. Too much even for medical institutions to handle.
But in that sacred difficulty, I was given a front-row seat to the raw, unfiltered beauty of being human.
I witnessed her moments of joy and confusion. Sorrow and tenderness. Lucidity and peace.

And through it all, I witnessed something even deeper: the presence of God.
The Holy Spirit moved through her surroundings, through her body, through our prayers.
The Blessed Mother stood by her, gentle and protective.
And grace—grace was not just an idea. It was alive.
It sustained us. It carried us. It sanctified even our darkest days.

This journey led us here—to American Martyrs Church, our spiritual home.
We were embraced here by all the parishioners at Mass who would greet her with sparkles in their eyes, their warm smiles, their open embrace—by Monsignor Barry, Father Joe, and Father Emmanuel.
In God's love, my mother received the Last Rites of the Church not once, but twice, by our three resident priests—a powerful reminder that God never left her side, not for a moment.

Today, we remember Maria Bui not just as our mother, grandmother, or friend—but as a daughter of God whose life was marked by unwavering faith.
She gave her all. She ran the race. She kept the faith.

And now, she rests in eternal peace, wrapped in the love of the God she served so faithfully.

On behalf of our entire family, we express our deepest gratitude to each and everyone of you for walking with us through this difficult time, in this sacred moment.

In God's love and grace,

Ninon Pope

Lạy Chúa, xin hãy dùng con như khí cụ bình an của Chúa;
Nơi nào oán thù, xin cho con gieo yêu thương;
Nơi nào bị tổn thương, xin cho con đem tha thứ;
Nơi nào nghi ngờ, xin cho con đem đức tin;
Nơi nào thất vọng, xin cho con đem hy vọng;
Nơi nào tối tăm, xin cho con đem ánh sáng;
Nơi nào buồn phiền, xin cho con đem niềm vui.

Lạy Thầy Chí Thánh,
Xin cho con không tìm an ủi, nhưng biết an ủi người khác;
Không tìm được cảm thông, nhưng biết cảm thông người khác;
Không tìm được yêu thương, nhưng biết yêu thương người khác;

ME CUA TOI
Tình yêu. Lòng trung thành. Gia đình. Đức tin. Sự tận tụy. Hy sinh.

Sự minh mẫn và bình an.
