Established his CPA practice in Marin County. As a solo practitioner, Budd had the flexibility to be available for his daughters while Deloras focused on her nursing career. With his office only 5 minutes away, Budd was always available for his girls.

Budd and Deloras joined Christ Presbyterian Church in Terra Linda. Members for over 40 years, Budd participated in the choir and was treasurer and deacon for many years.

Budd and Deloras take their first of many trips to England. They fell in love with the Cotswolds and dreamed of living there for a year after they retired. (Instead, they landed at The Sea Ranch and then Morton)
