Bruce grew up in this church and it is where he was supported and loved by so many to help him make the decision to be a minister. It is where some of his family still attends church. The pastor, Greg Freeman, and his dear wife, Waneta, have been friends of ours since our second year in the ministry, and our second year of marriage. It is where many family gatherings of special life moments have been celebrated. Please join us to celebrate Bruce’s life if you are able.

Bruce and his family joined Good Shepherd Catholic Church when we moved to Tallahassee in 2007. Father Mike Foley serves as the senior pastor and has been here since 1979. Alana was confirmed in this church. Father Mike made regular visits to Bruce after his illness prevented him from attending any longer. Father Mike did the Anointing of the Sick for Bruce a couple times and was a wonderful support and encouragement during the long illness. He was instrumental in getting meals delivered by fellow parishioners, making sure we had weekly communion, as well as sending church volunteers to help us get moved and help Teri when she broke her arm and wrist and could only use one hand. We love our church family and are so grateful for all the blessings they provided during this difficult time.

The final celebration will either take place at Teri’s parents’ home or a nearby restaurant. This will depend on how many guests we expect to join us along with Teri’s family. Bruce loved Pizza of all kinds. When Bruce and Teri met in college, it was Happy Joe’s Pizza and My Pie. Through the years we loved Pizza Hut, and Papa Johns and Red Elephant—but Bruce’s all-time favorite was Giordano’s. We made special spur of the moment and birthday special drives to Orlando just to eat Giordano’s. The last time Bruce got to enjoy it was when we took our special last car trip in September 2018 to see all the family and had Giordano’s Pizza in Holland. It is a fitting tribute to enjoy it again in his honor at this last memorial celebration.
