Brian's obituary
Shortly after graduation, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee where he met his wife, Christine. They married and had three children who became the light of his life.
His profession was long haul, Over the Road truck driving. He was blessed to travel to so many beautiful places along the way. While life took him near and far, part of Brian's heart stayed in Texas. He loved his Texas Longhorns, the Astros and the Texans. He also had a deep love of 80’s music. Anyone that knew Brian, knew that he was a profound Van Halen enthusiast. He could play some mean air drums while his friend Wayne covered air guitar. Brian would probably say the biggest loss of 2020 was the death of Eddie Van Halen. We hope he gets to meet him now!
Brian was diagnosed with diabetes at age 26 and had a long battle with renal failure and dialysis. We lost Brian on May 2nd, 2021 due to complications of a severe stroke. He passed peacefully surrounded by his closest friends and family and the love of so many more.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Pena and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hollin. He is survived by his parents, Sam and Kathi Pena, his brother, Eric Pena, his sister, Heather Moorman, his wife, Christine Pena, and children, Aubrea Elizabeth Pena, Brian Severn Pena, Jr and Cayce Delaney Pena, as well as his brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and one great nephew. Brian had such a big heart and his family extended to include Alice Poupard and closest friends, Wayne Laviolette, Jeremy Sartain, Kevin Wilson, Monica and Autumn Miller, Rusty Alexander, and Samantha Namie, as well as his “adopted” grandbabies, “June Bug” and “Peanut” and his grandkittens, Professor and Twitch. His family and friends meant the world to him and extend far beyond these here.
We would love for you to leave your memories and photos of him here for all of us to share. As well, if you would like to make a donation in Brian's honor, we have selected the American Diabetes Association to let his light shine on through helping others.
