Brian will always have a piece of my heart because he was one of the kindest, soft-spoken, humble men I have ever known. Lyle reminds me so much of him! Thinking of and praying for the whole family as you celebrate this special day.🙏🏻❤️

Brian was such a fun and caring man.  I met him playing basketball at Bend Athletic Club in about 1985. Then he arranged for me to be able to spend the night at the hospital when my wife was dying in the ICU in 2016.  Such a loss.
Thinking of all you Jarvis' on what would have been Brian's 62nd Birthday. Again, our family is so very sorry for your loss. I know this is a hard time for you all. Please know you continue to be in our prayers! May God give you all strength every day!

What a wonderful, heartfelt soul you were, Brian! Happy Birthday to one of the kindest, gentlest men I have ever known. I’ll never forget the day that I was finding out the gender of my baby and he says -  “I’m just going to cut to the chase, you’re having a boy!” - and the big hugs to follow. We had the same age daughters and now we were going to have the same age sons.😊I feel very blessed to have gotten to know Brian throughout those years of raising our kids and to see his mini in Lyle!💕God bless🙏🏻

I'm truly shocked to hear of Brian's passing just a couple weeks ago...the world truly lost a special human. He found my husband and I thru our story of losing a tomato farm. Brian invited us to live on his Tumalo property so we could continue to grow tomatoes for the community. He was always SO GRACIOUS and a great friend to talk to. We will miss him dearly! Our hearts are with you Annie & Lyle.
Dear Annie, Lyle and Terese, We just learned of Brian's passing and are shocked and heart broken. We are so very sad that he is gone and sad we missed his celebration of life.  He was such a sweet and happy soul! He is the reason Riley Roslund has a fantastic career also as a Sonographer up in Montana. Thank you Brian, for inspiring Riley to follow in your foot steps! We will cherish all the great ski runs we shared with Brian and keep his smile in our hearts! Our love to all of you, we miss you and love you all. Kristin, Drew, Riley, Cooper, and Lily Roslund
Dear Lyle and family,  I so wanted to attend the Memorial for Brian, but was distracted by Ann Kelly's death and forgot.  I want you to know how precious you all are to George and I .  Please know we are praying for you and wanting you all to feel the healing presence of God.  Love You Thiel and George Larson
Although I have many memories of fun times with Brian and his family (skiing, huckleberry picking, playing the card game Spoons around their dining table) I have one very found memory of Brian. When I tried out for rally in junior high, I was so nervous. Laurie had taught me a cheer and moves to use. Standing on the stage I looked out and saw Brian and a couple of his friends sitting just a few rows away. He had a big smile on his face and was cheering me on, which helped ease my nerves. I've never forgotten that.  Brian had a great smile that could put anyone at ease.  Thank you Brian.

Dear family,  we share with you in the loss of Brian.  Treasure your memories.  They cannot be taken from you.

Brian was such a ray of sunshine anytime you crossed paths with him. Such a loss! So sorry for your family. Many happy memories to hold on to. Sorry to miss the service. Love and hugs
From the Deschutes River Conservancy team: we are so grateful for the generous gifts made to the DRC by Brian's community. These donations support our mission to restore streamflow and improve water quality in the Deschutes Basin - what a beautiful way to honor Brian's memory and his love for the river during a time of loss. Thank you.
Brian was my first ultrasound student at Adventist Medical Center. I enjoyed connecting with Brian over the years.  Always positive and had a smile on his face and loved being a Sonographer.  RIP my friend 💙💙

My heart hurts for all of you—Lyle, Kent, Mark, Laurie, Brad, Annie, Lyle, and all the family, friends, & co-workers who dearly loved Brian!

I knew Brain when he was younger. Our families met at church, and Lyle & Mary were like 2nd parents to us. They were always there for us! Laurie was the 'cool' babysitter, I graduated with Mark, & Brad wasn't around much!

Brian, Kent, my sister, Carol, myself, our Dad, Dale, and Lyle, all enjoyed skiing together (when you could get a season pass for 6 people for $300 at "Bachelor Butte"!!). Brian was always so nice and fun to be around. I agree with others~~he had a great smile! (He was my '7th grade crush'--though he was 2 years younger, and had no idea, I'm sure!).

We also enjoyed many hours around their big dining room table eating, then playing 'spoons'--a loud and fun card game with Brian and Kent (Mark was 'too cool' for that! ;)  Then we would enjoy huckleberry picking (& eating more than we saved!), up near Mt. Hood with our families.

What great memories I have with Brian, Kent, and all the Jarvis'! They are the most loving & caring family I have ever known! Thank you all for being a part of our lives! I look forward to meeting Annie & Lyle. You both have the same great smile your Dad had! :)  Be proud of that, and who your Dad was!

May God be with you all, and give you peace. We have that 'firm foundation' from going to church together, and can be assured that we will see Brian again in heaven (our faith and hope in God!). Hebrews 11:1

After my uncle died, I read this verse, and it gave me peace. “Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.” John 16:22  I pray for that peace for all of you!

"I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength."    Phil. 4:13

BIG hugs (like Lyle always gives!), to all the family!! Our family will be there to support you at the service, and anytime you need to talk!  LOVE YOU ALL!!

Brian and family were some of the first friends we met when we moved to Bend twenty years ago. He was such a solid, positive person and he will be greatly missed.

We met Brian and Terese in Lamaze classes 26 years ago, where we quickly became friends.   He was an amazing person and was always willing to help anyone in need.  One day, he  brought Annie & Lyle out to our ranch to ride Candy pony.  After the riding lesson, I needed help getting the rest of the horses up to the barn so Brian went out to the pasture and  wrangled up all four horses at once to bring them in - I thought....Now that guy is the real deal!

We will miss you Brian!

Love,

Brian, Nicole, Jesslyn, Brooke & Kellen Murphy

I just learned of Brian's death from another long time St Charles caregiver and I'm so sorry. Brian was such a great guy, truly always seemed to have a smile on his face and some wise crack to make sure we all stayed smiling too. He will be missed!!! RIP my friend!
Brian was an important part of my life as an Ob/gyn. His incredible technical skill, presence and compassion meant that I would direct difficult patients to him. We enjoyed a close friendship in addition. I’ve lost touch since leaving medical practice. I’m sad at what feels like an early death to me. He made the world a better place for me and many others. His memory will be a blessing.
Lyle and family, I am so sorry to hear of this profound loss. I pray that you will find comfort in God's promises and the love of family and friends. ❤️
