Favorite memory from childhood best friend, Kory Strickland.

Dale, Brad and I flew to Arizona to meet their Dad at the airport with boat in tow. We went to Lake Pleasant for the day to boat and ski. We got into a spraying duel and I had the advantage because I weighed more than Brad and I was blasting Brad with water. After a short time Dale stepped in to even the duel by pulling in Brad's line, then Brad was able to blast me with spray ... lol, good times.

Brad's brother Dale shared this memory about a hair raising motorcycle ride he and Brad did back in High School: One of my favorite memories with my brother was when we were in high school a couple of times we rode our motorcycles up into the hills out by sylmar I think we were coming back from Kory Stricklands house. Brad was in the lead on his mt 125 honda I was following on my new honda XL350. All of a sudden out of the blue he stops makes a right turn up over the curb and straight up the side of an incredibly steep spill way for a portion of Balboa blvd that was cut out of a rock hillside. So this mountain cut out is terraced and goes up in like 20' sections then levels off for about five feet then goes nearly vertical again for about 20' maybe 30' then level again for 5 or 10 feet and so on for like 5 times. when I decided to write about this I looked it up on google maps. It is on Balboa blvd about a block and a half south of the 5 freeway on the east side. I was able to go to street view on google maps and see the very spill way we went up I have no idea why he decided to do that but I figured if he's doing it i'm going to follow him (by the way I would have not even thought what he was doing was possible if I didn't have him in front of me doing it.) So he goes all the way to the top with me behind him on my brand new motorcycle. (I don't think it even had 300 miles on it.) Well he just shoots over the top and pulls to the side to wait for me. When I got to the top of the last vertical section I gave it a little to much gas and the front end started to come over on me so I just let off the gas and shoved the bike in front of me and let it go, Well it made right to the edge of the lip on the last spillway and landed on the tank and put a big dent in my new motorcycle. So I was mad about my new bike getting a big dent in it so I said "you jerk what are you doing driving up walls." He just laughed and said "well you didn't have to follow me."  I think back in those days most people thought I was the crazy one. But he surprised me on several occasions, this was one of them.  Looking back now that was one fond memory. We used to have a lot of fun riding our bikes in the hills. Now in this last year we moved our fun from the motorcycles we used to ride as teenagers to ebikes and I feel blessed that I got to enjoy several recent trips with him to Carpinteria to ride the ebikes.

The last time I was with Brad at Carpinteria. Some video of us Ebiking down a path that starts as we were at the seal sanctuary and then down a path beside the railroad that is a cliff on the otherside that leads to the ocean. It is a 360 video so you can take your mouse and click anywhere on the viewing screen with a pc and drag left or right or up and down and the scroll wheel on the mouse will allow you to zoom in and out and see what we would have seen had we looked in that direction anywhere along the video. For instance the last time I viewed it I just dragged my view around to see what Brad was doing behind me while I was looking forward. Oh also if you are viewing on a phone and you are standing you can just swing your phone in any direction and you will see what we would have had we looked in that direction. Or if you are seated you can take your finger and drag any direction. I just noticed when I used my phone that it drops the video quality down to 480 you need to hit the youtube settings and change up to 4k if you want to see the best quality (I hope this makes sense)
