Born in Singapore in 1982, Brad spent the first few years of his life in Indonesia where is father, Bob Boyl, worked as an ex-pat. Moving back to Portland a few years later, Brad attended Ainsworth elementary and later Lincoln High School. Building substantial roots in the Pacific Northwest, Brad attended University of Puget Sound in 2001, later joining the fraternity Phi Delta Theta, and graduating with his Bachelors degree in 2004.
