I, too, had the pleasure of teaching with Blanche for many years at Emory. Every Spring my spirits were lifted by seeing her bright smile. It was infectious and made everyone around her feel just plain good. She was admired by colleagues and students alike. For me the program will not be the same without her. Blanche was not only a skilled instructor, but was also kind and patient with the students especially while communicating her critiques of their performances.
