I was very sad when I heard the news of Birgit's passing. I remember her so well as being vivacious and extremely busy.   I recall the summer we canned all of those pears from your big pear tree ; it was quite an undertaking. I also remember her roofing, her house falling and having Tanja come and stay with me.  Birget always so friendly and helpful. She took it very good care of my daughter when she was in elementary school. You have my love.
