While at Choctaw high, I took every single class that Mr Uselton offered. He was such a funny, and enthusiastic teacher. Any one who saw him speaking knew his passion for the subject, and even though I graduated in 2008, I still talk and think about him regularly. Truly an inspiration.
I’m so sad to hear of Mr. Uselton’s passing. He was the best history teacher and is one of the reasons I became a history teacher myself. He will be missed!
I was in Billy's graduating class of '78. My fondest memory of him will always be a hilarious skit he and Brian Sweeney did about a feret, or his obsession with Star Wars. Rest in Peace Billy.

Would like to send my condolences to the family of the late and great Mr. Uselton. Saddens me even writing this. However this man went above and beyond teaching. Not only making you interested in his course but making it alive! He will be missed as he is loved. A great man to all who have encountered his presence. I would like to say thank you soulfully because you gave me wealth in heart and knowledge to be appreciative of a lot! This isn’t goodbye but a see you soon! ❤️
He loved black and white movies, he would tell me about settling in with a bowl of dried dates and finding a movie he hadn't seen before and we'd chat about it. He got me into so many old movies but the dried dates never quite stuck!
He was an amazing teacher!!! Rest in peace! He will be missed!!
So sorry he was one of my favorite teachers he made learning fun
He was a great and blessed person he be missed

Kelly I am so sorry about his death. Know he will help to guide you daily, he will be your Guardian Angel until it’s time for you to meet again on the other side of the Pearly Gates of Heaven. Always talk to him when you need him for he will listen and hear you, never forget that!

Love to you my friend                                                          Glory

God Speed Mr Uselton. ... Best teacher! I'll never forget the summer after graduation when you helped me write that grant over WWII pilots....your library of knowledge was like none other, your love of useless facts, your willingness to selflessly give to your students.... You made this world a better place. I'm better because I knew you.    Thank you, sir! ❤️
Billy was my cousin. He was truly a kind soul. I wish I had been able to have more and longer conversations with him about everything! Kelly, Judi and Leslie I’m so sorry for your loss but hope you find comfort knowing he made a difference in many lives! Blessings to you all. RIP Billy, see ya on the other side!
Rest in peace Billy, you were always a kind and loving cousin.  I know you are great company in heaven and having a grand time with those who have gone before us, save a place for me.  Peace be with you. You will be missed.
Judi, Kelli, Lesli, I am so very sorry for your loss. Please know that you are in my heart, thoughts, and most importantly, prayers❤️
Truly the best teacher that I ever had. I did not even know I liked history until I took his class. Always funny and charismatic. I always thought his classes went by too fast. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
I'm so sorry for your loss. We weren't real close but I do remember hanging out at the lake when we were young.
Truly the best teacher in all things..absolutely will be missed. He reached out to the kids that nobody cared about and pulled them into his world of learning and wonder💝

Bill and I were neighbors and friends throughout Jr. High & High School. I will always remember his sense of humor the most. He was the “king” of sarcasm, quick wit and put-downs. It became somewhat of a competition between us, but I was clearly out of is league.

Even in HS his love of history was evident. He was an authority on WWII and Hitler. He was amazingly smart. You could name any country on the globe and he could tell you the capital, and every other country that it shared a border with. He was a great chess player and a magnificent cheater at Monopoly.

We didn’t stay in touch in later years but I miss him and his friendship. He is a big part of MY personal history.

My prayers are with his family and other friends who knew and loved him. He will be missed.

RIP my friend. I know we’ll meet again.

He was the best teacher, really knew how to get through to the kids. On the first day of class he told us to pick up our books, put them under the desk, and don't touch them until the end of the year ❤️ he taught from diaries written by people who were there, and thought that the texts were full of oral diarrhea ( his words 😂) . Mr. Uselton would hold bonus question quizzes and just for me he would ask a question about Stephen King, knowing I would know the answer. No other teacher tried so hard to get through to every kid like he did. Kids came by his classroom during lunch and after school, just to hang out with him, and he never turned anyone away, always seemed happy to just say hey, what's up? An amazing person, best teacher ever, and a good friend ❤️
I will remember Billy as a sweet guy with a big heart. We had one of the best teachers, Mr. Murphy, reading the students comments sounds like Billy learned well from him. Billy will be missed and I am praying for his family and friends.
