Billy Ray passed from this Earth after a long hard fight with Cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hosa B. and Bennie Lucille Benson; his grandparents, Cornelius and Clydie Allen; his siblings, Shirley Rice, Ricky Benson, Gloria Aron, Jimmie Benson and Steve Benson; and his nephew Jimmie Benson II.

Survivors include his children, Alisha Benson Olivares and husband, Luis of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Ashley Nicole Benson of Mangham, Louisiana. His siblings, Jerry Lee Benson of Shreveport, Betty Ann Watson of Oak Ridge, Brenda Kay Laffoon of West Monroe and Carolyn Lucille Benson of Dallas, TX; also survived by 4 grandchildren, Milo, Ona, Makenzie, and Levi; along with nieces and nephews that he held near to his heart.

Billy Ray was a kind-hearted person who always brought a smile to everyone’s face. Billy’s pride and joy was his 8 year old German Shepherd, Rocky. He spent the last several years working at Super 1, where he met so many special people he called friends. He will be greatly missed.
