Personal note from Beverly's Family

Thank you so much to everyone visiting this page. We will miss Beverly (Becky, Mom) tremendously and would love to have you share your favorite memories of her on this website.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 10th @ 10AM at "the Better Place Forest in the Berkshires" per mom's request. Please read more about this special forest and the maintained property: https://www.betterplaceforest…

A Striped Maple Tree has been chosen in her honor for her ashes to be returned to where she loved most, nature. She has also asked for her dog's, Panda's, ashes to be placed with her at the end of her journey. This especially chosen forest is preserved for family visits whenever they wish. The tree is located on top of a gorgeous mountain, adjacent to maintained trails, and a few historic buildings. A plaque with her name with a selected nature quote will be placed next to her chosen tree. In addition to contributions for the preservation of the memorial tree and the forest it resides in perpetuity, 25 new saplings will be planted in one of four preserved forests across the United States associated with the Better Forest.

The venue location is a long journey for many of you, but we would be honored for you all to share in Mom's Celebration of Life, if you are able to do so.

Updates

Update from May 4, 2025

Hello All,

I am passing on the following details provided by Better Place Forest:

RE: Beverly's Forest Memorial on Saturday, May 10th at 10:00am.

Our Berkshires team will be in the forest to host your visit; if you need to reach them on or before May 10th, please use the contact information below:
Forest phone number: 413-273-8271
Forest email: berkshires@betterplaceforests…
Berkshires Site Lead: Chad

Directions
Our address is 333 S County Rd, Drury, MA 01343. Since cellular reception can be spotty in the area, we recommend loading the directions before you depart from your home. You can find more detailed directions for your reference here. If your group is traveling in multiple cars, please let the others know the timeline and caravan if you can. When you arrive, please follow South County Road until you see the "Welcome House" sign and driveway on the left. The main parking area is directly in front of the welcome house on the left when you arrive, we can fit 4 cars here. There is overflow parking across the street beside the barn, if needed.
Travel and Timing

We will expect your group to arrive between 9:45 and 10:00 am; please do not plan to arrive earlier as we will be hosting other guests in the forest and preparing for your visit.

Our location has ample parking, but we encourage caravanning if possible. North Adams is about a 20-minute drive away and makes a great meeting spot if you'd like to gather and drive in together.

Forest Details
We have completed our site preparations at your tree and the forest is beautiful this season. We have placed benches at our Memorial Table and the tree so there are places for people to sit comfortably throughout the visit. We have walking sticks, poles, and our forest vehicle available for anyone who would like mobility assistance.

We recommend wearing layered clothing and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. We will be navigating some uneven terrain, and the weather can be unpredictable in the forest; we want everyone to be as comfortable as possible. Please check the weather for Drury, MA, but keep in mind the weather in the forest can be unpredictable.

Please note that the entire forest is a non-smoking/vaping area, and plan accordingly.

All of your details have been passed to Chad and our Berkshires Forest team and they look forward to welcoming you and your guests to the forest and hosting a beautiful ceremony for Beverly. If you need assistance next Saturday, you can reach them at 413-273-8271.

Wishing you all safe travels.
