I met Aunt Betty 12 years ago when I started dating her nephew Michael. From the minute we said hello I felt something in me shift and I knew in that moment, I had met one of “my people.” The people that you speak to once and your heart feels home. That first night I spoke to her for hours. It felt unfair to the rest of the people who were present, including my  now husband :) but it was just so natural and I learned so much about her and her passions, and it felt like I’d known her forever. Aunt Betty was the kind of  woman I aspire to be like.  She will be remembered and missed dearly  but more importantly, forever loved. I am truly grateful to have known her. Rest in beautiful peace to one of a kind Aunt Betty.

I am so sorry to hear about Betty passing. She was one of only two females in the social studies department when I did my student-teaching there in 1992. She gave me lots of help with class materials and advice on how to navigate in a department of men. She was a treasure to me.

I'm  so sorry for your loss. I was a caregiver for her a few years ago. We got along really well. She was amazing. I just drove by her house a few days ago. I wondered if she still lived there. Sorry for your loss.

I got to know Betty later in life as she got very involved at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in our complementary, alternative, left of center health programs.

my very first memory of her, that put her on my radar screen, was watching her so very, very slowly and carefully struggling to get out of the vehicle she drove to the meditation class,, and the time it took for her to exit the vehicle and walk into the classroom… at that time, I believe she had a cane. It could’ve been a walker, but never once did I hear her complain, and she always smiled and was joyful and present.

we became friends; when driving was no longer an option. We helped her out… I spent some time in her home in Stockton. I was truly amazed by the calm and peace  she had created through colors and art and textures.

In my role at the Medical Center, as I came across, maybe thousands of people in the various programs, she always held a special place in my heart.

Right now, as I’m thinking of Betty… I have a cute memories of our time together.. she was always more interested in looking outward rather than inward..

simply stated, Betty  was very special

I am sending my sincere sympathies to all of you. Your mom was a great teacher, friend, and colleague. We shared many adventures while at Morada and later with the “3 M’s”. Even though I cannot be there because of a prior commitment, she will always fill a special place in my heart.

Bless you all.

I had the pleasure of meeting Betty when I worked for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at University of Pacific (OLLI@Pacific). Betty was a frequent volunteer and so appreciated. After meeting Betty a few times, I told her, "I really like you. I want to be your friend!" And she was so thrilled - we were friends from then on! Once I left OLLI, we lost touch...running into each out once at Kaiser. She had a big heart and was always warm. God blessed me when I met Betty.

We will miss this wonderful, sweet lady.  We had so many warm and thoughtful talks, and laughed and cried together throughout the years.  She was kind and so inspirational, and had a smile that will be in my memory forever.  Love you Betty, and miss you!

My wife Kelly, deceased in early 2022, team-taught with Betty at Morada Middle School.  They were great friends ever since, now both have passed. I kept in touch with Betty is recent time at her senior home.       Will Price, PhD, Emeritus Professor of Operations/Engineering Management, University of the Pacific

I’m sorry and saddened to hear of Betty’s death. She was a great friend and colleague.  After I retired from teaching in 2010, I made an effort to connect with my Morada colleagues and organized a reunion at my home.  That reunion of retired comrades was a night I’ll never forget.  It was a lively evening gathering with folks sharing  a meal, great stories, and much laughter.  As is customary in most reunions, we all promised to stay in touch and renew contact. Of course this never happened.  Life’s agendas catch up with all of us. Yet, I did remain in contact with Betty.  Over the years, we connected at her home in Stockton and as she became more disabled, I made visits to the senior living facility in Stockton.  We shared happy and sad stories and laughed quite a bit. Sadly, we lost touch after a while. Betty was kind and gracious and I loved her for that. Her heart was in the right place, and I feel privileged to have known this friend.  I’ll miss Betty, she was a truly fine human being.

 UDABOMB, Betty!

Betty will truly be missed. I recall going to your guys house in Dublin for Christmas. We would always get a nice slide show from her trips all over. She always had great stories to tell.

I'm so sorry for the world's loss.  She was a bright star in this world. She was an amazing mentor to me as a new teacher at Bear Creek High School. I still hear her words of advice and encouragement as I navigate each day of teaching.  I was lucky to have her as a guide during those first few years of teaching.  To her family, she will live on through all of you.  Sending love.
