Ms. Bennie Irene Polk, age 70, of Vidalia died Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Meadows Regional Medical Center of Vidalia after a brief illness. Ms. Bennie was a native of Vidalia who had lived at the Duncan-McRae House of Mt. Vernon for the past seven years. Ms. Bennie was a member of New Corinth Baptist Church.

  Ms. Bennie is preceded in death by her parents, Maloy and Irene Polk; her sister, Billie Sapp; and her brother, Bob Polk.   Ms. Bennie is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Braddy; and several nieces and nephews.   

Funeral services for Ms. Bennie Irene Polk will be held Saturday June 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel with Reverend Bob Corley officiating. Interment will follow privately at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday June 24, 2017 beginning at 9:30AM until the hour of the service.
