Dear Barbara and Julia and the Rodney family,

Our hearts are aching for you after this unimaginable loss. We are sending you love and keeping you in our thoughts. And hoping the joyful memories and the love around you will bring you strength and some peace during this very sad time. We loved hearing the stories about Ben at today's service.
Much love, Lori and Bob Brandon
Dear Julia and Barbara - I am so sad to hear that Ben has died. I will always think of him as Julia's sweet younger brother. I remember being so impressed when I heard that Ben had continued to study Chinese and become fluent. From what you wrote it is clear that he used his language skills to help so many people. I am sending love to you both and wishing you comfort. If there's anything I can do, at any point, just let me know.

Dear dear Barbara

With love and hopes for healing,

Dear Barbara, Julia, Michael, Emily, Elizabeth,

We are thinking of you all and sending you so much love. We picture Ben so clearly - whenever you saw Ben he was always so warm and happy to see you that you felt the connection even thru the years. This picture is perfect - he was always joining in on the fun.

Barb & Julia- There are no words to express our sadness but we feel so lucky to have spent so many fun times with your family, especially Ben.
The Kaplans “discovered” Jamaica- that became our happy place- and spending two weeks together each Christmas for 10+ years was the best part of the year.

We will always remember Ben’s one braid that swung around his forehead, playing Boggle, drinking Ting, the BBQs, that 1 crazy banana boat ride with Seth where we all fell off, you guys coming over after breakfast to eat our muffin and pancake scraps, and how we all wished we could make up songs and dances as well as you and Ben could. You two were our entertainment!

Bringing these memories back to Larchmont together was just as fun as the vacation, and we love having your family in our lives. Imagining Ben sitting on his blue lounge chair, a liiiittle off to the side from our loud crew, engaged in a book, but just close enough to laugh and enjoy our crazy conversations, will always make us smile.

One love forever mon,
The Villa 98 Silvermans

Ben "blowing out" the candles at his 28th birthday party in March 2020. COVID-19 would soon shut everything down, so this was the last semi-normal in-person gathering we (Izzie and I) attended. Ben was able to bring laughter and joy to us during a hard time.
