Barbara was a kind and loving sister. I remember her as always having a positive attitude, sense of wonderment and a ready smile. I will never forget the summer of 1956. I was 16, Barb was 12. Our mom and dad put us on a train in Chicago and sent us to Los Angeles to visit our grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins for the entire summer. We saw all there was to be seen and did all there was to do in southern California. She took it all in with awe and appreciation for everything and everyone. We went back to that area with her daughter Amy 40 years later and she still exhibited those same qualities. Her ready smile and love of life and family made her easy to remember and love.
