I was sad to hear that Ms. Cotton passed two years prior. I met Ms. Cotton when my dad was the chaplain at Calvary Chapel. Later on when I relocated to Baltimore, she allowed me and my daughter to stay with her until I found housing. She will be greatly missed and was greatly loved by my family.
I am saddened to hear of Barbara's passing. I met her when I first started at Mayfield Woods Middle. She always made our days a little brighter with her funny comments. I will never forget when she came to my house to comfort me when my son died. She held my hand and prayed with me. She had a heart of gold. She will truly be missed. My sincere heartfelt condolences to your entire family. Peace be with you always. Love and Prayers, Drema  Bonavitacola
Hello Can, Whit, and Jordan. I was and am sooo very sorry to hear that your mom and grandmom passed. It is with heavy heart and prayers as I write this because you all are family and this feels like another family loss. I watched the memorial service and it was a beautiful tribute to her. So sorry I could not be there. I will keep you all in prayer as the Lord leads. Please accept my heartfelt love and condolences. Love Leslie

Barbara was my “round the way best friend for Life.” She was forced into independence and becoming a streetwise godly warrior which made her stronger and wiser. She took the hands dealt her and filled all obstacles like a cool glass of lemonade. Barbara was a happy and fulfilled person. As a great warrior queen she worked hard to provide and care for her family. She forged a path for herself, her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.  Her road was not easy but she always gave you encouraging words and maintained a joyous uplifting spirit who did not believe in criticizing or downplaying others. I want to thank you God for placing this jewel in my life especially during the times when I needed her the most.  May God allow us to continue to feel the presence of her beautiful spirit and may we hold on to the memories of the great times we had with her. She manifested love to all people she met. God give her wings to continue to carry her spirit so she can continue to move in this world inspiring and touching many whom need a healing angel. God we thank you for putting Barbara in our lives. She was a precious gift to this world, her family and her friends.
Our continued prayers and  condolences to the entire family. We will forever love and miss Cousin Rose's sweet spirit. We love yall and will always be here when you need us. Love Cousin Adrienne, Cousin TJ, Bre and Tyra!!

I will always remember "Sister Rose" (as I called her) and her zest for life. I feel honored that my friend Lavonne (her sister) brought her into my life to share and enjoy some memorable moments with her.

May the family find comfort and peace in the memories!

Wishing Peace & Blessings  to dear Sister Rose’s family and friends.  She was a kind, gentle and valued  friend.  My time and talks  with her will never be forgotten …rest easy my friend❣️
My condolences to Cotton's family. I met Barbra Cotton, who we affectionately called “Cotton”, while working at MayfieldWoods Middle School. Though saddened by her transition to the ancestral world, I am thankful and ever so grateful to have experienced her friendship, kindness, and fierce strength. Cotton fed me when I was hungry and styled me when I was overdressed. We spent time together after school. She didn't like to drive on the highway, so on one of our outings she drove the “MOST” backroads pathway  to Arundel Mills Mall. We dance the night away, and I had to drag her off the dance floor; for she was about to pull an all nighter on a school night. The night  I have never forgotten, but her route to get us there I could NEVER  recreate. Peace upon her soul! I miss her always.

Candace,

Condolences and prayers to you and your family. Your Mom was a great lady and had such a sweet spirit. God bless you all.

Dear Heavenly Father, Our Lord, God and Jesus Christ, I ask you to please give my dearest Sister-Friend Roses’ family my deepest sympathy and condolences, during this time of the Celebration of Life for my dearest Sister Roses’ Home Going Service.

I am deeply grieving and missing my dearest Sister-Friend Rose. I will miss her morning Praise ‘Hallelujah’ text greetings, she sent me almost on a daily basis. I will miss her warm, Spiritual personality of having a serving hospitality grace of welcoming me into her home for home cooked lavish lunch and dinners. I met Rose when her granddaughter Jordan was in Kindergarten at the school I work at.

Rest in Heaven Rose!

Barbara Rose Cotton was married to my brother Isaiah Parker Cotton.  She was a wonderful sister in law and Auntie to my children Christopher and Geoffrey.  My husband Mike and I shared so many adventures with her and my brother in our years in Boston and Atlanta.  Rose was always such a spiritual person.  In those years we had no car so she and I would dress the kids and hitchhike our way to church.  Rose was determined in all she did in serving God.  That was contagious to all who knew her.  Love and blessings to Candy, Mister, Whitney, Jordan,  Carlita, Naima and Nylah and  those beautiful twins Ethan and Eden.
Sending all of my love and prayers to the Family! I am so heartbroken by this. I am Jordan Johnson's best friend and I loved her Grandma like she was my own. My favorite memory of her was before Jordan and I would go out, I would stop by their house to change and get dressed with Jordan.  We always  thought her Grandma was sleep but she would either wake up out of her sleep when she heard us tip toeing out of the house with our heels or she was sleeping with one eye open LOL. But anyway, her Grandma would call us back to come see her so she could see our outfits, tell us how good we looked and to be safe.  Jordan and I still laugh about that till this day. Mrs. Barbara was my girl, I will truly miss her.
I'm saddened to hear Ms. Cotton has passed away.  She was my girl here at Mayfield Woods Middle! We'd cut up about alllll kinds of things.  She was missed when she retired, and now missed even more.  Hugs and prayers to the family.
My condolences to Cotton's family. I first met Cotton at Mayfield Woods MS and we would often eat all kinds of food (she created). We had fun times together (we would walk around her neighborhood after school- trying to get fit). I am so saddened. Sending prayers, hugs and love to Candy, Whit, Jordan, the Twins and Mister!

The Books and Buddies Book Club was shocked and saddened when we heard the news of the passing of “Sister Rose” (as we affectionately called her). Her sister, Lavonne, is a member of our group, and Rose was an avid supporter of our endeavors. We will always remember her joyous spirit, as she danced and sang at many of our celebrations. She certainly brought “life” to each event with her presence. She will be sorely missed.

We pray that the family remains centered in the divine love of God’s harmonious presence, as they cope with her transition.

With Sincere Sympathy,

Books and Buddies Book Club
