It's so difficult to put into words what you represent to me, to the family and to our community at large. Growing up, I saw you as an icon and someone to be emulated. You were such a down to earth person, always saying things the way they were and you would always drive your point home in the typical Iro dialect.  You were very close to your roots and that you were a unifying factor cannot be refuted.

I thank God that you lived well and while I give glory to God for that, I also thank God for your wife. I know you've gone ahead of us to a better place because you knew the Lord.

Continue to rest in the Lord dear brother.

In Loving Memory of Chief Bamidele Olotu: A Tribute to a Generous and Humble Uncle

Chief Bamidele Olotu, is a true inspiration to us all. His generosity knew no bounds as he selflessly gave back to the Kajola and Iro Ekiti communities. He was always ready to assist anyone in need, and his humble nature endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Chief Olotu's generosity was unmatched. He went above and beyond to support the people of Kajola and Iro Ekiti. Whether it was financial assistance, educational opportunities, or community development projects, he made a significant impact. His contributions brought hope and positivity to countless lives.

Despite his accomplishments, Chief Olotu remained humble. He treated everyone with kindness and respect, regardless of their status. His door was always open, and he readily offered his wisdom and guidance to those who sought it. He understood the importance of being accessible and compassionate.

Daddy Olotu, it was an opportunity to meet you while around in Canada. Your soft spoken nature and the memories will forever linger on in our hearts. Thanks for all you did for your family, community and all who came across your path.  We will miss you dearly. RIP sir. 🙏

Daddy, you lived well and brought up children that are great achievers today. You were one of the earliest family fiends we came in contact with when we first got married in the nineties. You name was a household name in Ijapo Estate Akure then.  You and mummy received us as your children. You were a great educationist. that trained his children well. My prayer is that God will comfort mummy and the children you left behind. Rest on in the bosom of the Lord.

I was so sorry to hear about Chief Bamidele Olotu's passing. He was such a disciplinarian and easy-going person.

He shall be greatly missed.

The memory of the righteous is always blessed such is Chief  Bamidele Olotu, a father in a million.  Compassionate and highly committed to the growth of the younger ones.  The love I enjoyed from you and your family during my undergraduate days in FUTA is not what I can forget in my life time.  You loved  Iro, our place of birth passionately and you gave yourself to her.  Daddy sleep on till restoration day.  Engr. Adegoke Babalola
Reading through all the great messages here, helps one realize what an impactful life grandpa lived. His legacy, his kindness, his love for his friends and community lives on through his wonderful kids. To know the Olotus is to be blessed with sincere and unselfish friendship and for this, we are eternally grateful. Thank you Grandpa for giving so selflessly and teaching us all to do the same.
What a great loss!!! An Iroko has, indeed, fallen and the birds who perched on it for succour have lost a treasure! Daddy, your demise coming at this critical time when we needed your services and wisdom most, is quite rattling! Your immense contributions to the lives of those of us who were opportuned to cross your path and your place of birth are phenomenal and are appreciated. On a personal level, I particularly thank you for your timeless contributions to who I am today. You took a particular interest in me as a small boy. I won't forget easily the day you sent N20 to me to pick up my JAMB form in 1985 after my GCE (Advanced Level) and how you and Mummy gave me both moral and financial support throughout my undergraduate days. You were the Chairman of the Electoral Committee that ushered in the current Iro-Ekiti Progressive Union (IPU) Exco where I am the National President. You were also a member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of IPU. You were a man of the people and a community leader par excellence, the reason the community honoured you and Mummy with chieftaincy titles. But who are we mere mortals to query God? We, however, take solace in the fact that you lived a fulfilled life and left behind fantastic legacies and good children. Your footprints are there for all to see and they will remain eternally indelible. My prayer is for God to give the family you left behind and the entire Iro community the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Sun re o Baba oninu ire!
I had the privilege of meeting Daddy Olotu through his children in Canada, and his gentle and soft-spoken nature struck me. He had a great sense of humor and always prayed for us anytime we met. May Daddy Olotu find rest in the bosom of our Heavenly Father.

'To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die'...

Grandpa Olotu was an esteemed member of our family and our community, and his passing has left a void that will not be easily filled. As we mourn his loss, let us also remember the wonderful life he lived.

Grandpa was a true inspiration to all of us, his wisdom, kindness, and strength touched the lives of so many people, and his legacy will live on through the love and guidance he gave to us. His life has set an example of how to live, love, show kindness, and more evidently, be an agent for peace and progress in our relationships with others.  It was a privilege getting to know him and an honor to witness the fruits of the legacy he leaves behind. Rest on in the eternal glory of Christ. O daa ro.
