So sorry to hear the sad news of Avril. Shared bible study with her. She sang also and had a beautiful voice. Always so sweet. She will truly be missed.

I was so sorry and surprised to hear about Avril’s illness and subsequent passing. I first met Avril and we became acquainted at a Women’s Prayer Breakfast at Kansas Ave SDA church. We sat at the same table. She told me that she would like my assistance in helping her relocate to a new home nearer her son, after I had informed her that I was a realtor, and gave her my card. So I was her realtor briefly before she fell ill. She told me about her illness when I spoke with her by phone shortly after she became ill, and I let her know I was keeping her in prayer. Will keep her sons and family in prayer during this difficult time.

My condolences to Avril's family. I first met Avril when we were grouped together at a professional development for teachers many, many years ago. We introduced ourselves and we became great friends. Later, she ended up moving into the middle school where I taught 8th grade math on the 1st floor and she taught 6th grade social studies on the 2nd floor at FPMS in BentonHarbor, MI. We had a lot in common. We both were teachers, of course, we believed in God, we loved to sing, just to name a few. Nevertheless, Avril will always be my big sister. She will be missed but never, ever forgotten!

Dr Rupert and Nolva (Betty) Ryan share deeply the loss of Avril. She and siblings were our friends, as youth in Woodbrook. I was her “Big Sis” and she was “Lil Sis.” 😌 We stayed in touch and shared pics of children and “grands” I failed to reach her lately,…saddened by news. Will miss her chats; but God was her Biggest Friend! So, May her dear sons; beloved Grands; June Ronald and Lorna be comforted. 🕊️🛐

I am very sorry to hear about this. Avril took me and my daughter in when times were difficult. At the time, I had few people that I considered friends but Avril allowed us to stay with her. She never showed any type of irritation and was always welcoming. The last time I talked to her she was in California and seemed to be enjoying life. She was used by the Lord to provide comfort when I truly needed it.

My condolences to Avril's family. I first met Avril when I attended church and connected. We spent a lot of time talking on the phone and many times she drove from Chicago to attend church and have lunch with my family. A few years later she moved to Michigan and we worked with BHAS together for a while. Avril loved teaching. When she moved to California stayed in touch and many spent many nights on the phone talking about life. We were happy to have lunch together May 2024. Love you my sister. Rest In Peace.

I am so very sorry for the family's sorrow. Avril and I worked together in BHAS. I enjoyed that year working with her. I even had her over for dinner:) We stayed in touch occasionally. I am so shocked by this news.
Many blessings
