Ava's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ava Joyce Wolters-Thomas, a beloved and admired woman, on October 22, 2025. Ava was born on November 18, 1936. Her radiant presence will be dearly missed, but her legacy will live on through those who knew and loved her.

Ava is survived by her loving daughter, Teresa Wolters. She has been reunited in heaven with those who predeceased her, including her parents, F.E. and Carolyn McGahan; sister, Dave Broadway, husbands, Leon Wolters and Charles Thomas; and her son, David Wolters. Ava's family has grown to include a cherished step-son, David Thomas, who continues to honor her memory.

A kind-hearted and joyous soul, Ava was deeply rooted in her faith at Pasadena Community Church. Kindness was more than just a trait for Ava; it was her mantra. She navigated the world with a positive spirit, a passion for life, an unwavering faith in God, and a deep appreciation for nature. Her love for the ocean, arts, and beautiful music reflected the depth and beauty of her own heart.

Throughout her life, Ava was known as a curious adventurer. She found joy in the pages of books and never lost the desire to broaden her horizons. Ava's love for people was palpable and manifested in her being a ray of sunshine to everyone she met. Her legacy remains a testament to her vibrant spirit and the gloriously colorful life she led.

We invite all who knew Ava to remember and celebrate her life. Her memory will forever linger in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know and love her. Ava Wolters-Thomas was not just a person; she was an experience of kindness, joy, and adventure that will continue to inspire us all.
