Augustus Darius Allen, born January 22nd, 1963 in Winder, GA entered the Kingdom Eternal on May 21st, 2020 in Indianapolis, IN. Darius, as he was known from childhood, was an amazing Husband, Father, Son, Uncle, Friend, and many other names. He was well loved by all who encountered him. Born in Winder, GA to Harold and Alma Marie Allen, Darius attended schools in Gainesville, GA. Darius met Sherri Hipps in 1984 and married her that same year. The two of them had two boys, Augustus D. Allen II and Joseph D. Allen. Darius and family spent years in the hotel business traveling around the country before settling in Indianapolis, IN where he made many friends working in fulfillment centers. In 2007 he was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and would battle that cancer off and on for the next 13 years losing his battle with this disease that effects both men and women.
Darius is preceded in death by his father, Harold D. Allen sr. Surviving members include his wife of 36 years, Sherri Allen, his sons and his daughter in-laws he loved dearly Augustus (II) and Mary Allen and Joe and Christina Allen. Grandkids: Joseph Zacharias Dean Allen II (Joe and his Wife Christina Allen), Augustus (III), Eleanor, Kathleen, William (Augustus (II) and Mary). Also included is his mother, Alma Marie (91 years old), sister Sandra McDaniel, and brothers Harold and Dennis Allen.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, May 23rd at 4pm at New Hope Church, Greenwood, IN at 4pm. A service of internment will be held at a later date in Winder, GA where he will be placed with his family.
