It is with profound grief that we announce the sudden passing of our grandson, son, brother, cousin and friend. Ashton Phillip Carson MacDonald died in British Columbia on November 3, 2022 at the age of 33. Ashton was born October 15, 1989, in the Northside General Hospital in North Sydney, N.S. He leaves behind and will be profoundly missed beyond description by grandparents, Robert and Ann Greer; father Evan MacDonald; mother, Sandra MacDonald; brothers, Allister MacDonald, John-Charles Fouchard; uncles, Doug Greer, Glen Greer, Carson (Bruce) MacDonald; aunts, Lorna Greer, Anabela Greer, Belle MacDonald; cousins, Robert Greer, Katrina Greer, Sarah Greer, Rebecca Greer, Samantha Greer, Kaitlyn MacDonald and many great aunts and uncles. His close friends are an extended family for whom we are forever grateful. He is predeceased by grandparents Patricia Edwards and Donald MacDonald. Ashton was an outgoing guy with a heart of gold and a singular sense of humour. He was a talented musician, singer and songwriter. An accomplished, capable and charismatic chef, he graduated from the Culinary Institute of Canada in Charlottetown, P.E.I., in 2009. He achieved his red seal in record time and his career led him from the island of Nantucket to the west coast of Canada and many points between. To all who knew him he was a shining light and a gentle and genuine soul. Words cannot adequately express how deeply he'll be missed. A funeral service will be held at St Andrews Presbyterian Church in North River Bridge NS on Sunday November 13 at 3:00 pm. There will be a reception beginning at 2:00 pm. All are welcome.
