I am very saddened by this news. Dr Epstein was always so friendly and outgoing during my eye appointments.  His extensive knowledge in the ocular disease field and high regards from his peers made me so confident in his care .. He will be sorely missed by so many. My sincere condolences to his family and  also to those he work with in his practice
Shannon.   I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Epstein’s passing. He was an amazing eye doctor, and I remember him being super friendly and funny (I’m a patient of Dr. Steinhauser but I have seen him a couple times).

This is sad news. I was a patient for several years.  Dr. Epstein was always extremely caring and truly went the extra mile. My  condolences to his family and friends.
As fellow New Yorkers we discovered we both worked at North Shore Hospital during the same time. Such a small world. He was instrumental in getting my dry eye under control and I will always be eternally grateful for his caring and compassion to get me where I am today. Thank you Dr Epstein, you are my hero. May you Rest In Peace.  My heartfelt condolences to his family.

PEC…You’re right when you said there will be no one else like him. I’m truly sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family and staff.

We are both so very sorry and shocked to hear this. We adored Dr. Epstein and he will certainly be missed. He was always the most interesting medical professional that we have ever had the privilege of being his patients.

Dr Steinhauser

I am so saddened to hear this for you all.  My deepest, heartfelt sympathy and love to you!  I pray that God comforts you in your daily lives.  Many blessings!

Dr. Steinhauser,

I am so sorry to hear this news.  I am praying for you and your family to find comfort and peace.

Tamra

I was just in the office a couple of months ago and saw him. My condolences and heartfelt prayers go to his wife, family and office team. We have suffered a great loss.
This is very upsetting. Dr Epstein has been the only eye specialist who helped me through my dry eye & red eye issues. He was an amazing clinician with great stories. Much love goes out to Dr. Steinhäuser, their daughters, and the fantastic staff that supported him.  He will be sorely missed! :(
My sympathy goes out to Dr. Epstein's family.  This is very shocking news.  I can't imagine how it has been for them.
I was shocked to see this obituary today!  I only got to meet Dr. Epstein once for an intensive dry eye evaluation but I immediately connected with him.  He was kind, skilled, reassuring and absolutely fascinating during a conversation on a variety of topics.  What a loss for his patients, practice, colleagues and especially his beloved family & friends.  May you all find peace and comfort in knowing that this wonderful gentleman made such an impact on so many!
Sharon and all family and friends, I am still shocked to think that Art is no longer with us.  I just assumed that I would see him at the Academy and have time for a hug and a brief chat..   I know how hard his passing is for you, please know that you are welcome to reach out anytime you want a sympathetic ear from someone who understands.  Hugs.

It was the first time Art and I lectured together.  It was a 2 hour presentation, the room was packed and I was at the podium.  About half way through the lecture I suddenly had to excuse myself and use the restroom.  Art picked up and carried on with the lecture just like the pro he always was.  I returned and he never batted an eye.
Dr. Art Epstein is a lovely person.  So happy, and loved to teach our colleagues.  Rest in Piece Doctor
As the tribute indicates, Art was truly optometry's lightning rod. He was the person who initiated controversial topics and engaged his profession to address important clinical issues. There is no one like him and there will never be. The profession of optometry was so blessed to have Art Epstein to engage us, educate us, and inspire us.
Our sincere condolences on the passing of Art.  Praying for comfort and peace during this difficult time. We were so saddened by the news of his passing. He was a wonderful doctor, mentor, contact lens pioneer, author, and a strong voice for the profession.  Art always had time for his colleagues and I personally can not say thank you enough for your personal advice over the years.   Rest in peace.
What a wonderful friend...Love and miss you Art...
