Armando's obituary

Armando Gonzales, 81, Beloved Air Force Veteran, Fireman, & Educator.  

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Armando Gonzales, who passed away peacefully at the age of 81.  Armando lived a life in service to others and a deep commitment for helping the community.    

Born in Texas, Armando began his career in public service joining the Air Force in 1961, bravely protecting his community and embodying courage and selflessness that defined his character.  His sense of duty led him to join the Fire Department where he worked on specialized rescue operations.  

He moved on from service roles but continued to operate as an intelligence advisor to the military and local government offices.  Later in life, he held high positions in Finance and wanting to share his wealth of knowledge & life experience, he transitioning into Academia and was a college professor and university executive.  As an educator, and in life, he continued to inspire and mentor others.  

Armando is survived by his (3) children, Sylvia Pagan, Lisa Gonzales & Juan Gonzales; (9) grandchildren (2) great-grandchildren & (4) siblings.  His legacy of service, integrity and kindness will continue to live on through his family and all those whose lives he touched.  

Armando's immediate family will have a private memorial and in lieu of a public ceremony, we invite you to visit his online memorial and post photos or memories that can be shared with others.  In addition, donations can be made in Armando's memory to St Jude's Children's Hospital, American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warrior Project
