With sadness, we announce the passing of Anthony “Tony” Barton, Ph.D. (89) of Sewickley, PA on February 22, 2024 in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Barton was one of the founding faculty members of Duquesne University’s existential phenomenological psychology program. He was born in Paris, France on November 26, 1934. He came to Duquesne in 1960—after having met fellow founding faculty Adrian Van Kaam and Alice Wagstaff, while studying with Carl Rogers at the University of Chicago. …
