Tony and I were friends since we were eleven and he was there for me so many times. He was one of the the most caring people I have ever known and he was the brother I never had. We spent hours talking , walking, and going to movies and my mother always loved him. He was at my wedding and I was there when he lost his daughter and later his brother. Tony contacted me when my mother died and then we spoke less frequently. Recently my husband died and I realized  I hadn’t heard from Tony.I think I thought that he would always be there ,I am heartbroken! Know that he was always so proud of both his sons and loved you both.
Tony was an amazing friend and an outstanding father. He and I met when both our boys were in elementary school. We shared many fun times, and held each other up when things weren't so great. I will always remember how he would lovingly take my son in for the weekend or just an overnight, particularly when I had to be with my father during his illness. I wish you a wonderful journey, my friend. I know there is a special place for you in the lexicon of great souls. Rest in peace, surrounded by the love of your dear Nickie.
