Anthony's obituary
Born May 28th, 1945, in Daytona Beach, Florida, he spent much of his childhood in Buffalo, New York, before relocating to Florida again during high school. Upon graduating from Seabreeze High School in 1963, Anthony returned to Buffalo, where he began work as an insurance salesman. He would remain in the Buffalo area until 1978, when he relocated to New York City. Tony lived in Manhattan, as well as nearby Edgewater, NJ, and Jersey City, NJ, until 2012 when he relocated to Tallahassee, FL, where he would remain until his passing.
Anthony worked in various business ventures throughout his career. While in Buffalo, he acted as a resident manager of Equity Funding Corp., a financial planning company. In New York City in 1980 he formed the Electrogesic Corporation, a private medical device company, which is today known as Orthosonix. He would continue to act as the director of the Electrogesic Corporation until 2000. He also acted as an independent advisor to numerous companies seeking financial assistance, among them the chemical and medical device company ADMTronics Unlimited, Ltd. and electronic components company Hybrilonics, Inc. Furthermore, he acted as an investor and fundraiser for numerous startup companies.
Anthony loved to meet people and was exceptionally sociable. He loved to tell stories and jokes and was always willing to share a conversation or a laugh with anyone. People who shared an apartment building or office with Anthony knew him and had least heard at least one of his many stories. Anthony loved to both play and watch tennis, became an affiliate of the Health & Tennis Corporation of America, and would continue playing tennis well into his fifties. A voracious reader, especially of mystery and espionage novels, he could frequently be found in his armchair reading paperbacks.
Anthony will be sorely missed. He is survived by his two sons, Anthony E. Scioli and Justin A. Scioli, as well as his nieces Tina M. Scioli and Brandi Lyn. He will also forever be remembered by his extended family, dear friends, and former coworkers.
