I am so sorry to hear that “tante” Anna has past away, my cincere condolences to family and friends. Tante Anna and Oom Cees were friends of my parents in Nigeria and they stayed in contact after they left Africa. In 1982 my mom and I stayed with them, in there beautiful house on the lake, in Rome NY for a holiday. They spoiled us with their hospitality and warmth. We went on a day-tour to the Canadian site of the Niagara Falls, beautiful. Only a 6 hours drive back and forth. I celebrated my 23th birthday with there and they took us out for a lovely dinner. I cherish the memories.

Anna and I met through quilting and were friends for many years.  I enjoyed her company.  We had many laughs together.  I know she loved her family very much and traveled great lengths to see them as much as possible.  You are all very lucky to have had a great Mother, Grandmother,  and sister.  Thank you for letting me know of her passing.  Kathie Chyrywaty.

It's, give or take a day, exactly 60 years ago that, together with my sister Daphne, we stayed at tante Anna ands oom Cees at their place in Ikeja (all friends of our parents were tante and oom naturally in those days). This because our mom had to go to the Netherlands to say goodbye to opa. I remember them both very well, beig part of the Dutch clan in Nigeria. Oom Cees big man, huge moustache and the stay at their place was no burden at all, good fun. Oom Cees always in for a good laugh, tante Anna always sweet. They always remained good friends with our parents over the years, if I remember well my mother even visited them in Canada, evden though she hated flying.

Now they are all "stars in the sky". Thanks for the memories tante Anna ❤️

So very sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. We did do some travelling together through the years! She was lovely and yes…. Spunky! Karen Bielby Rome NY
