After attending the memorial service, the comments from Dwight Hansen (emcee) stayed in my mind. He requested comments for the family.
I have known the Kelloggs since college.
I am reminded of this passage:
“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:1-2 NASB1995

My reminder came from a video by Charles Price an English Bible Teacher Pastor, I met at Forest Home. The talk is posted on YouTube. I highly recommend this video.

Maria, Kurt, Sonja and family-I was so sorry to hear about Andy. He was such a great cousin. We spent a lot of time together when we were young-family outings, Christmas and other holidays-reunions at our uncle's farm. He was always kind and generous with a gentle sense of humor-and a ready smile and always ready to share his faith in God. He will be greatly missed. I am sorry I cannot attend his memorial service today-please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry for this loss. Andy was such a kind, thoughtful man with such a peace about him in all that he did. His gentle spirit was brought into the way he served every time I worked with him. He will be missed, and I'll continue to pray for you, Maria, and your family.

Andy, Maria, and I go back a very long way, to when our kids were little. We attended a Bible study together with all our kids at a house in Mission Viejo. We also attended South Coast Community Church/Mariners Church together. I remember a really fun evening when Andy's band played for one of the evening church services. Andy was quite the showman.! Then there were our fun family days at the Mission Viejo Lake. My husband and I have fond memories of visiting Andy and Maria in Fishers, staying overnight, and chatting over breakfast. Both Andy and Maria served the Lord quietly and faithfully all these years. They were inseparable! My heart breaks for Maria to suddenly, unexpectedly, lose her life partner. Such a painful loss. Lots of tears. No doubt, Maria's faith is absolutely unwavering, and the CRU family will be right there to support her. With Andy's promotion, the world has lost a very bright light. He will be missed!

Such a great Man. It was an honor to be his friend. He will be missed and the world will be a lesser place.

So sad to hear of Andy's sudden departure to heaven. Maria - the heart's of mine and Lynn go out to you and your family. Andy was one of my first roommates after graduation from UCI - he lived out in California for a bit while he was preparing for his marriage to Maria. Andy was not only a great roommate but also lots of fun with a gentle and Godly Spirit. Blessings to all of the Kellogg family. Love, Doug and Lynn Richards

Oh, Maria, our hearts are deeply saddened to hear of Andy’s passing. He was truly a remarkable and godly man who honored you, his family, and his Lord with unwavering faithfulness throughout his life. We trust that he has already heard, "Well done, good and faithful servant," and now rests in the presence of our Savior, awaiting that glorious day when you will be reunited. Please know that you and your entire family are held close in our prayers during this difficult time.

Andy is always remembered with a smile on his face. His extremely professional, yet worshipful, sounds from his saxophone in the South Coast Community Church worship brand, created a beautiful ambiance in our Saturday night worship services. Then afterwards Andy and Maria brought life to our Joint AdVenture fellowship of young couples. Even though many of us have spread all over the world now, those were special memories with our young kids and our small groups and park days in the beautiful OC. Can't wait for our reunion for eternity!

Andy, you will be greatly missed! You were such a genuine person, faithful husband, great Dad, and a Grandpa to your young grandchildren. We enjoyed spending time with you over the years through Rock Hills Church, Dave through the Keynote golf tournament for many years and through Cru ministry. Thank you for sharing your faith, friendship, and example of Christ to us and many! Prayers for you, Maria and we will definitely keep in touch. Let us know how we can help you going forward. We hope to watch the memorial in August online if that is an option. Love you, Kellogg family.

Maria, we were heartbroken to hear the news about your dear Andy. He was such a kind, talented, godly man. We have such fond memories of the years we spent with you both in small group, sharing meals together and studying God’s Word. We have been praying for peace and comfort for you and your family in this difficult time of grief. Sending much love.

It was my privilege to minister with Andy on the Bridgeway worship team. Not only was he an exceptional musician, but he had a heart for worship and a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit that was stellar. In all my years and travels I find this combination very rare indeed. He’s part of heaven’s band now. Our love and prayers to you, our sister Maria

I'm heartbroken to realize Andy has passed on due to sudden conditions. Praying even more so because he had also been holding me in prayer practically all my life in Christ.
Andy, though I cannot see you now, we will meet again while face to face with our Lord.
May the very real comfort received in Christ be with you all.

Dear Maria, Kurt & Sonja,
Words feel very inadequate to express how very sorry I am for your shocking loss. I don't think there is anything that can prepare one for what you are experiencing as you grieve. I am praying for you often that the Lord in His mercy will give to you what you need for each day. Just a few months ago I recall telling Andy to be kind and gentle with himself after the loss of his dad and now I encourage you to do the same. The pain may lessen over time but I know we never fully "get over" feeling the loss of those we love dearly in this life.
I didn't know Andy well but greatly appreciated his kind and servant heart that was always evident as he served all of us in our Cru office. The work he did will be picked up by others but nothing or no one can replace his kind hearted presence, ready smile and humorous emails. I regret that I never took the opportunity to hear Andy play his saxophone in person and hope I adequately expressed appreciation to him for his service.
With caring prayers and the hope of the living Christ whose presence Andy now knows fully, Ann Benson

Such fun memories of you both! Going to one of Andy’s many band concerts, Conner Prairie, visits in Michigan and you all even visited us in Arizona! Our sincere love and prayers for you Maria and the family!
