Unique individual, fantastic father, witty human, rarest of the most rare breeds. The human experience is not for the weak. God bless you Andy Mays.

I hope your gathering was ful…

I hope your gathering was full of love. I wish I could have come by for hugs but worked too late.

Andy obviously had great taste in women and he had some great kids.

Sending much love and peace to all who loved him.

Way too many fun memories to list ! Heres a couple :

Halloween trick or treating for shots in the girls dorm rooms …  and later  riding a motorcycle with Andy , don and Gary through campus. All four of us on one motorcycle . …   Nice 😊

a keg party in a park , it was sorta cold out , Andy decided to pour  gasoline on a barrel of trash and then light it ,…suddenly his head sorta disappeared in the flames ; then later reappeared with no eyelashes and no eye brows and that’s when we starting singing   “burn Andy burn , disco inferno “ 👍😆

I am grateful Andy was with us for 57 years, a much beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew and cousin. He had a special place in each of our hearts and in our family. Daisy, Kaja, Lilly and Sully, I send my deepest condolences, with ♥ ♥♥♥.    Great Aunt Ellyn

I can only write a teaspoon of our story at a time as I'm still quickly overcome by emotion but Andy and I met at a low point in our lives but it was the best of the worst times and then climbed from there.

Our story begins when we met in court ordered anger management together c.2012. He'd started about 6 months after I did and we quickly connected and stayed connected ever since. Around 2014(?) he had helped a lot with my family's weed grow in Fillmore, CA. Regularly assisting on the farm and we could only pay with gas, weed and a few dollars. He was a champ to say the least. Through life's highs and lows we remained in contact and hung out together when possible until he moved to TX.

A few months ago he'd called me, a bit drunk, and he complimented me by saying "Roland... you get me". As in I understand him and his feelings.... and I really did as he too "got" me.

I have so many stories but one stands out. Andy and I were room mates in Newport Beach way back with another great friend, Sharky. Andy left to go grab some beer for all of us but didn’t return. A few hours went by and we became worried. Sharky and I went out looking for him and after an hour or so we finally found him. He was in a bar called Blackies (one of our favorite haunts) with no shoes, no shirt, only his shorts and his signature Rain Bird hat. He was playing pool with a group he’d met completely oblivious to the fact that he was supposed be doing a beer run. He couldn’t remember what happened to his shoes and shirt 😂

I’ve stayed in contact with Andy over the years and he will always be remembered as one of a kind and one of the most genuinely good people I’ve met in my life. My absolute condolences to his family. Andy was loved, and is still loved, by a LOT of people,

I'm sorry to miss Andy's service. He was a great classmate, made Aggieland more enjoyable and the Corps experience more human. Excellent musical taste too! My his soul find eternal rest. Till we meet again, brother.
