Background
Before her passing, Andrea asked to have donations made in her honor to support both women & children experiencing housing instability, and veteran mental health. We have carefully chosen these two beneficiaries to best fulfill her wishes.
Middle Way House provides empowering services to survivors and their children such as: emergency shelter, a 24-hour help and crisis line, on-scene advocacy, support services, and transitional and permanent housing solutions to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. They also offer education and prevention programs to community members. The agency serves six counties throughout south-central Indiana.
Andrea came from a long line of US Military veterans that included her father, son, brothers, uncle, and a few who came before. After seeing the hardships veterans were faced with over the last 20+ years, ensuring that vets have free & affordable access to mental healthcare, as well as battling the stigma of reaching out, was a cause she cared very deeply about.
Headstrong provides at no expense, confidential and stigma-free mental health treatment for military members, veterans, and their families regardless of service era or discharge.
