Background

On October 15th, 2017,  our family lost Connor Schellenberg, our beloved brother, son, and friend, in an automobile accident. Connor’s heart had reached so many people in his short, 23 years, but his own personal passions included music, sports, kids, and sportswear. As our family collected his belongings, we sorted through baskets of his clothing, which he always wore with pride. After the bills were paid and his stomach was full, Connor’s leftover cash would always go toward a new pair of tennis shoes, Nike Air Jordan shirt or a unique baseball hat. Knowing how much his clothes meant to him, we just couldn’t drop the baskets off for donation without knowing his clothes would be used by a child who truly needed them.

There are hundreds of students throughout our community who attend high-poverty schools, and do not have access to proper clothing, outerwear, hygiene products, or even a place to wash their clothes. We have created an organization to honor Connor’s memory by setting up clothes closets in high-poverty schools. While we already committed to donating Connor’s clothes to this group of students, we anticipate a much greater need than what this initial donation will provide. We need your help to expand Connor's Closet to provide diapers, wipes, cleaning supplies, and hygiene products for children, individuals, and families nationwide.

You can help Connor’s Closet with donations and/or financial contributions.

Please consider helping us on our mission and spreading the word to other members of the community.

Thank you for helping us turn our grief into gratitude!
