I grew up across the street from Allen.  Fondest memory is when he took me to see Dylan in San Francisco.  I spoke with him years later on FB about the concert. We both agreed it was the best concert EVER! Although we never kept in touch after that. Allen left an impression on my life I will never forget.  Rest Allen, Rest. Til then,....

I am so blessed to have been Allen's friend for 60 years.  We actually grew up together and I always felt we were more brothers than friends.  We are so different, but this helped us understand people better.   Allen's biggest legacy is his kindness and love.  He saw the best in people and this is something I still work on today because of him.   I will speak more later about him, but wanted to touch on how important he was to me.  I love my brother.

A few weeks ago on a saturday night at approx 8:30pm, as I was at work, I received the sad news that my loved, close personal friend ALLEN FLEMMING, had passed on into eternity. Sadness passed over me. Also a knowing & a Peace that this fierce writer - our FLEMMINGWAY was bow traveling to his new home in eternity to be with Lord JESUS.

It was a great gift that GOD brought to me in my genuine friendship from, and with Allen, who affectionately called me Blood Brother. Allen was a wild, true SPIRIT whose words & presence rang true to my essence spirit, what i would call - THE HOLY SPIRIT. At times when. speaking, or praying together, on the telphone it felt like spiritual electricity touching me physically. Allen was the real deal! Allen was a fun man and his free spirit was awesome to behold. It was like he was skipping along with JESUS joyfully daily, with wonder, rather than being burdened with dogmatic letter of the law weights holding him down. I am so glad that I got to speak with Allen on the telephone and say goodbye to him in my own way, approximately a week before his passing. I am so glad Allen is no longer in physical pain, & his free spirit is once again completely

free to soar the heavens! I am also joyful that he completed the magnificent REBEL POET gift of a book about our mutual friend the late LARRY NORMAN as a completion of a calling, and a preservation of ALLEN FLEMMING’s legacy as a writer, as well as Larry Norman as a reformer and artist widely known as The Father Of Christian Rock.

At the same time I am mourning the loss of my awesome friend. I will miss Allen’s wild communications, surpising me by being outside City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco blasting my FB Live poetry reading from my home during the pandemic, and him being a phone call or a text away. We never did get to travel to Ireland together like we hoped perhaps to do one day. Allen, like Larry Norman, understood me on a deeper level, and many times it was refreshing to have a conversation that could start at a higher place spiritually without me having to explain myself from point A, over and over again, or be attacked by onnoxious judgement remarks from out of left field in the guise of being spiritual. I guess it’s just a part of being wired as an artist soul, and also a follower of Jesus. I will miss Allen immensely.

Also I/We have the genuine, blessed hope - to Believe - I/We will see him again one day on the other side, in eternity, with all joy! My Love & prayers of comfort to his wonderful, lovely wife Susan, his sister, his great friend Joe Dickson, and all who loved him. I will always remember ALLEN FLEMMING. Glad he gave us the gft of the REBEL POET book (especially for us outsiders) - ALLEN FLEMMING -

LOVE - ALWAYS FOREVER NOW

Even thought I missed opportunities to meet Allen on his visits to the UK I counted him as a friend. He would get in touch and have conversations and ongoing proposals re how best to journal Larry Norman’s life story. Could or should we have worked together on a book? Maybe I should have as Allen managed to publish his book before me!

I had been asking around about how is Allen, hoping his health was stabilising when I received the amazing Rebel Poet book in the mail.

That made my day. I’ve had tears in my eyes as Allen honestly share about Larry’s life and death. And his personal experiences of Larry’s faith standing strong amidst life’s challenges. Although tbh the book was pretty wacky in places I loved the fact Allen had completed this task that had burdened him for so long!

Thank you Allen for honouring Larry in writing it. I will endeavour to do the same. Allen always seems to be a kind and encouraging and generous person. I hope I’ll see you in heaven my friend.
