Allen's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Allen James Flemming. Born on November 23, 1958, Allen lived a full and vibrant life. Allen is survived by his wife, life partner and soulmate Susan Chrysler, his loving sisters, Marda Helling, Gayle Maisano, his brother Bryan Flemming and his many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory in their hearts forever.
Allen was a man of many talents and accomplishments, yet he always remained humble and kind. One of his most remarkable achievements was completing his life work "REBEL POET." A scholar at heart, Allen pursued educational excellence throughout his life. His academic journey led him to gain a Master's in Theology from New College Berkeley, delve into Theology and Popular Culture at Fuller Theological Seminary, and secure an MFA in Creative Writing from St Mary’s College of California.
Regardless of his academic achievements and intellectual prowess, the best lessons Allen shared were not from textbooks but from the book of life. He taught his friends and family about the importance of love, kindness, and positivity, prompting them always to choose happiness in all circumstances. These valuable lessons have touched many lives, and they will continue to shape their paths in the future.
Allen's legacy is marked by humor, kindness, and generosity. He brought smiles and laughter into every room he entered and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. His generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on.
Special gratitude is extended to Susan Chrysler, who cared for Allen day and night for five years, providing him with immeasurable love and support. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Joe Dickson—a lifelong friend, Ben Clough, Martha Sloss, Murray Silverman, and Christian Helling for their love and support of Allen. Their contributions to Allen's life were truly invaluable.
As we mourn the loss of our beloved Allen, may we also celebrate the extraordinary life he led. He showed us how to embrace positivity, love, and happiness, leaving an enduring imprint on the hearts of many. Rest in peace, Allen Flemming. Your legacy lives on.
