Adrien and I both shared a love of music. Some of that was born when he joined the Columbia Record Club. He would sometimes let me make a selection when the monthly flyers came in. One summer, we enjoyed building and flying Estes model rockets. Of course, we all competed for who had the best one! Another thing we shared, was a sense of humor. Over the years, I tried to school him in the fine art of "the Jimmy Joke". He got pretty good, but never quite got to the expert level. I miss ya bro.....until we meet again. (Can we tell Jimmy Jokes in heaven?!)

Rich's past jobs were not always as intellectually demanding as an actuary. Rich and I were both dishwashers at the Limerick Diner - we did manage to get in some games of chess now and then while working however. We were classmates in high school and belonged to the chess club. I last saw Rich was when he was still living in Jersey. We talked and of course played a couple of games of chess. With our busy lives we lost contact with each other. Since retiring last year I had been looking forward to getting in touch again so we could resume playing some chess. Regretfully I waited to long. Rich was one of the most creative and intelligent persons I have ever known - I will miss him.

Richard & I rode our Schwinn bikes through Valley Forge going 40 mph (we had speedometers). We had fun passing cars in the 30-mph zone. We camped together and enjoyed h.s. band camp and band trips, from Philly to Virginia Beach.
In 10th grade English, he wrote a book report of his Geometry book a month into h.s. Later, as a junior at Drexel U, he complained that he _finally had to do real math homework!
His chapter contribution to the Lotus DataLens book I published --included 40+ tech contributors --displayed his tech know-how in using embedded code for his actuarial work using Lotus 1-2-3.
Best of all, I was there when he asked his Dad to lead him to Jesus in 1959. He was in the bathtub, and Dad prayed with him. Some years back, when he nearly passed and had a moment in heaven, he observed, "I saw Christ and Aunt Gloria & Uncle Jim" (former missionaries). But ... there's no 'time' up there! As an actuary, I won't have a job!" Yeah, I think they will appreciate Adrien's wit in heaven.
Miss you bro, but the Rapture is soon to come, so we'll catch up then! Wayne

I worked with Adrien on some public interest projects that needed actuarial expertise and creativity. Adrien was the best: super smart, super kind, and warm and funny. It was a privilege and an honor to work with him and have him as a friend. And we had another connection, since I teach at Drexel. I will miss him and send you sympathy and appreciation for the loss of such a good man.

I sure miss this guy. Been on my mind a lot lately thinking about his sense of humor and love for others. Such a special man we lost. I miss him more everyday he’s gone and waiting for the day it gets easier. I love you A 💜
