Adrien's obituary

Adrien Richard LaBombarde, 67, of Houston, Texas, went to be with his Lord on January 21, 2021 from complications of Covid-19.

Adrien was born on September 9, 1953 to Richard Moses and Victoria LaBombard in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was always very proud of his southern roots. After graduating from Spring-Ford High School in 1971, he went on to study Mathematics and English at Bob Jones University, Houghton College and graduated from Drexel University in 1976. He became interested in actuarial science after reading a poster indicating actuaries used arcane math.

He had an extremely creative mind and created the first known position of 'Research Actuary' while working at Johnson & Higgins then went to work at Milliman and finally ending his career working for the IRS helping to write pension code. He was a notable speaker at many different seminars, tech sessions and symposiums.

In 1999, he married Susan. Adrien was a 'bonus' dad to Kelly James Sass, Natalie Sass Feller and Jenny Michelle Sass and loved them as his own. He was Granddude to his first grandson, Forrest James Feller.

After retiring in 2017, Adrien spent his time studying his Bible and memorizing Bible verses, reading and writing poetry, collecting 'I love you' songs with the help of his brother, Jim, keeping up with a pension study spreadsheet, and as the Covid-19 pandemic began he started studying and actuarially projecting the figures for number of illnesses and deaths.

Adrien was predeceased by his father, Richard Moses Labombard. He is survived by his mother, Victoria Joy LaBombarde, his brother, Jim Labombard, his wife, Susan and his step-children, Kelly, Natalie and Jenny and grandson, Forrest.
