Zyah's obituary
Zyah Thomas was born in Gilbert, Arizona. Zyah passed away on July 13th, 2022, at the age of 11.
Zyah is survived by her Mother, Natalie Thomas, Father, Lenny Thomas, two sisters, Hypatia and Eden, and three brothers, Isaiah, Silas, and Nakoa. Her best friend, Sophie. Last but not least, her dog Pixie, whom she loved very, very much.
Zyah was the oldest of six kids; boy, was she quick to let you know it. Zyah had such a zest for life, no matter what she did. It could be as simple as doing some of her favorite things like playing with her toys, where she would create an entire world with animal figurines. She loved making videos of herself playing Roblox or educational videos about animals. How about the time when she rescued a bird in the backyard from our cat Luna, then spent a week feeding it and trying to teach it to fly. We didn't have the heart to tell her the bird wouldn't be able to make it..... and it didn't—when she would make sandwiches and pack them up so she could feed the homeless. She always quickly reminded mom when we didn't pack any and saw a homeless person.
We can remember how excited she was the first time she caught a lizard in Arizona. The pure enjoyment when she built an "ant colony" in the backyard with an amazon box and had to educate us on which one was the queen aunt.
We will forever miss the quick comebacks, the constant questions about everything and anything. "Dad's not google, baby." Most of all, the love you had for god and all his creation.
You inspired us to be better people, to find love in every flower, insect, and animal. A constent reminder that today was a new day, with new things to learn and explore.
It's beautiful to see in all your little brothers and sisters how they love animals, insects, and flowers. But, anyone who knows us knows it didn't come from mom and dad. That's all you, baby girl.
Zyah will be significantly missed every day. The sound of your voice is something we will wish to hear. The half smile we will pray to see one more time. The feel of love in your hugs once again.
But, we grieve with hope. We know you're in heaven with the love of god. Knowing through Jesus, we will be together again for eternity, and eternity was never promised to us here.
So run with Tundra, collect all the Ginnie pigs you want. Tell them all about your mom and her hooves. Tell all the dad jokes you can. Dad has the family here on earth, and mom will ensure all your brothers and sisters pursue their passions just as you did, and you hold us down up there, baby girl.
We love you forever from Mom, Dad, Hypatia, Isaiah, Silas, Nakoa, and Eden. We will forever carry a piece of you with us, and we can't wait to see you again, my baby girl.
