Background
Thank you so much for everyone's support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations to can be made to the family to help with the expenses that were incurred during her 10 year battle with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).
MSA is an atypical parkinsonian disorder affecting your body's involuntary (autonomic) functions- movement, balance, swallowing, speech, bladder function and motor control. Currently there is no cure for MSA, nor any treatments to delay the degeneration of nerve cells. People with the condition typically live for 6 to 9 years after their symptoms start and get worse quickly during this time.
Her husband, Fidel, stopped working to become Zenaida's full time caregiver in 2016. As she progressed in the disease, we had to purchase medical equipment and supplies to support her comfort and daily living. Much of these expenses were out of pocket and not covered by insurance:
-Porch ramp
-Elevated bed
- Stem Cell Therapy
- Glutathione Therapy
- Medical Trips to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota
- Percussor
- Laser and Magnetic therapy
- Physical Therapy
-Acupuncture
-Massage Therapy Contribute
