Zee's obituary

Zelrae Gallon-Scott, a beloved wife, mother and friend, was born on June 19,1948 in Nacogdoches, TX to the late L.C. and Elrea Jackson.  As the baby of the family, she was the last survivor of her siblings (Edoris Jackson-Boins, Vernell Jackson and Luther Jackson).  A woman of extraordinary strength and passion, she passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, and lived a life filled with love and dedication.

Zelrae grew up in the Nacogdoches, TX school system and attended Texas college.  She met and married Jerome Gallon in which 5 children were born from this union:  Regina Gallon, Jerome R. Gallon (preceded her in death), Reimon Gallon, Tammy Gallon and Ebony Gallon.  A proud military wife, she had the pleasure of traveling the world while embracing new experiences and different cultures.   From every place she called home, she carried treasured memories and lifelong friendships.  Her travels shaped her personal and professional development and gave her a deep love for people and fine art; she valued and shared that love with everyone around her; and although she and Jerome eventually divorced, she carried an ever- lasting and loving bond with him throughout the rest of her life.  In 1991 she married Talmadge Scott, and they were married for 20 years.  Talmadge is referred to as "Pappy" by Zelrae's children and grand-children, and he continues to be an influential part of their lives.

Zelrae was a woman of elegance and sophistication, and she embodied impeccable taste in fashion and decor.  She had a natural gift for creating beauty wherever she went with her sense of refined appreciation for life's finer things; and with that her presence elevated every room she entered.  But beyond her outward grace, her true beauty was found in her heart.

In the face of loss, we remember Zelrae's enduring vitality and resolve which has inspired us all to live our lives with compassion and courage.  The resilience she molded and the steadfast love she gave to her family are the cornerstone of her legacy; and along with her legacy, she leaves behind her sister, Carol Ann Simon of Nacogdoches, TX, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends who love and adore her.

Her spirit will continuously shine through her children, her most beloved grand and great-grandchildren, grand pups, as well as the lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
