I was so sorry to hear about Yolonda's passing. She was one of my closest friends at Syracuse University. I loved her and will miss her dearly. Praying for her family.

I met Yodi on our first day in the writers' room of the NBC show "Heartbeat." I said hello to her and smiled. She looked at me discerningly and said, "Now that is a kind face." I said, "could be the light." "Nope," she replied. "That's a lot of pressure," I said. "You can handle it," she replied with complete assurance. And heck if I didn't spend the rest our time together trying to live up to her assessment.

I still can’t believe that yolanda is not here. I see her face I guess it is on Facebook with her radiant smile.  I missed seeing her when she came to New York but my daughter saw her. I’ve watch mature into the fine woman she was as Yolanda was my daughter’s friend since the third grade.

Yo being not here doesn't seem real- here spirit was infectious and way too big.  Sending so much love to her mom, brother and sister especially… she was so proud of her younger siblings, talked about you so much when we were together…
