Yolanda's obituary

As many of you may already know we have suffered a great loss on December 3rd. Our friend and long time Soledad resident Yolanda Fuller, known to most as "Tootsie" was called to be with Lord.

To most people Mrs. Fuller was Mr. Fullers wife. The sweet woman who baked zucchini bread for her husband's coworkers and everyone loved her. To family and close friends she was Tootsie....the strong mother who lost her first born son Jonas at 7 years old from an accidental gunshot while on a visit with family. She pulled through for years, carrying that pain all while continuing to raise her 2nd son Jason alongside her husband, our memorable custodian Mr. John Fuller. Everyone knew the Fullers!

She had a fall in which she ended up in an induced coma for a month and while recovering in rehab got word of her husband having blood clots which were deteriorating him so fast She fought to leave the facility to be by his side.

On June 1, 2021 Mr. Fuller past away which added to her already broken heart and put her in a depressive state where she was homebound and had little interest to do anything. Her son Jason, grandson Jason Jr., and sometimes sister Lorraine shared looking after her. Then I came in as her "provider" as she would call me. Lol! Boy was she a special one!

The first time I started actually being her caregiver she corrected me on my Grammer in a way where I wouldn't get too offended but she was serious about it(say "yes", not "yeah")and stuff of that sort. During our time spent she shared so many stories with me about her childhood and how her family owned the 4th Street market which we know as, "The Coldest Beer in Chole" and how her husband would take them on trips everywhere and how family was always everything. She had her moments but that's what was unique about her. She spoke with authority in a sweet voice but if you pissed her off boy were you in for a rude awakening!

Tootsie tugged at my heart as she did to most people. You couldn't help but love her. She became my close friend whom I'd do anything to help make her life easier and happier. She spoke about knowing God and how she read the whole Bible once. She often cried for her Son and Husband and mother whom she missed dearly and how her son Jason was always so helpful and how they shared many different interests like watching movies together. She shared pictures of family especially of her grandson little Jason.

Tootsie suffered an aneurysm in July 2023 that required her to have emergency surgery that she'd never fully recover from and was sent to a rehabilitation where she passed after being diagnosed with COVID. Mrs. Tootsie, you will always be missed and never forgotten.
