Yolanda's obituary

With deep sorrow, but with immense gratitude for a life fully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, daughter, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend, and leader.

She was an exceptional mother to six children who love her and will always love her deeply: Francisco Javier, Claudia Yolanda, Sandra Janeth, Luz Mary, Luis Armando, and María Fernanda. She was also a grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a strong and respected woman, a political leader in Villavicencio, Meta, Colombia, loved and followed by thousands of people in her community. She was known for her strong sense of integrity and justice, her firm character, and her immense love for others. Her leadership and commitment left an indelible mark on her city and on all those who had the honor of knowing her.

Beyond her public life, she was a proud mother of six children and a loving grandmother to thirteen grandchildren. Family was always the center of her life, and her example, strength, and affection shaped multiple generations.

In recent years, she resided in Florida, surrounded by the love of her daughters and family. After a courageous battle with cancer, which she overcame with great strength, she continued to face life with dignity and hope. Sadly, she passed away suddenly due to a stroke.

In her final moments, she was accompanied by her daughters, María Fernanda and Luz Mary, and by her grandson Javi Hopper, who was like a son to her and whom she raised with love and devotion.

Her legacy of leadership, justice, love, and strength will live on forever in her family, her community, and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and eternally remembered.
