I read Prisoner B-3087 in 4th grade, and it helped me understand the pain a lot of people went through. I'm currently making a new cover for a really beat up copy that is in my English class. I want to put a bit about Yanek's life and honor his life outside of the war.
rest in peace. he was a fighter and im glad hes in a better place now!

I read "Prisoner B-3087" and I realized how much he went through as a child I am actually doing a project about him for school.

I had finished Prisoner B-3087 and I was amazed how Yanek Gruener had survived 9 camps! He and his wife are so cute. RIP (rest in Peace) ❤
Wow. This man was incredible. I had read the book Prisoner B-3087 and this young boy went through so much. I am so sorry and I hope, for once, he rests in peace.
I just finished reading Prisoner B-3087 and I was in shock when I found out it was based on a true person. No one should ever have to go through that and it’s astounding what Jack went through and survived. He was a very strong man and his story should never be forgotten. I’m so sorry for his family’s loss, rest in peace💗.

I'm so sorry for the loss of this great man I never knew Jack Gruener but he is a very great man he survived 10 different concentration camps to go though that is very overwhelming to lose your family at a young age and you have to start a new live with nobody you know you don even know if you are going to survive I hope jack gruener family know what kinda good of a person this man is . He was so brave and I know he will always inspire everybody.

This man is just incredible, I have read about his story and it was just astonishing, he survived 10 different concentration camps. While the war started when he was 10 he went through hell until he was 16 and lost almost his entire family due to the Holocaust. His will power to leave is just outstanding and I am forever proud and grateful he lived to share his story for us and to educate us about the conditions of the Holocaust and how life was in his shoes. May both Jack and Ruth Gruener rest in peace.
I'm so sorry for the loss of Yanek. I just finished Alan Gratz’s book Prisoner B-3087. I had to jump online and read whatever else I could find about Yanek Jack Gruener. The story tore at my heart but left me with such an overwhelming inspirational feeling for a man who fought through hell to live.  Continue to rest in peace Yanek. Your story will always go on. ❤️❤️

I predicted his being born.
I read Alan Gratz's book... So heart-breaking and overwhelming. I wish I could have met him. That story was life-changing and insperational.
I never knew Jack Gruener . But I read Prisoner B-3087 4 times. And him never giving up to survive, really inspired me to never give up. He was so brave and I know he will always be an inspiration to everybody.

I just read Prisoner B-3087 by Alan Gratz, and Yanek’s story is incredible. Being a boy in Nazi Germany and surviving 10 concentration camps is no small feat. Yanek’s legacy will live on beyond his generation to inspire the world.

Every year for the past 5 years, my 5th grade students and I have read the story about Yanek, Prisoner B-3087.  We cried through his tortous journey, through the concentrations camps and death marches.  We cheered his survival.  This year, my students asked how old he was.  When we looked this up, we were saddened to see an obituary.  The story of Yanek is inspirational.  What a strong an courageous boy and man.  I will continue to read this story with my students to honor Mr. Yanek Gruener! May he rest in peace!

I recently read the book Prisoner B-3087 by Alan Gratz and I am utterly amazed that anyone could survive such a terrible time. Jack Gruener has become a huge impact on my life and I will never look at my hardships the same way again. Thank you to Jack for leading impacting me.
