Mom and thousands of have experienced Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) pain, the worst pain known to man. Mom was able to get relieve after 6 months of searching when she was taken in by her son. There are 2 types of TN. Mom had Atypical TN. There was no know cause. It is a rare disorder of the nerve where the blood vessel rubs the sheath off the nerve making it sensitive to vibration, a breeze, talking, eating, and whatever could stimulate the nerve. There may be a nutritional cause but several may be a source of it, such as dental procedures and TMJD. Mom eventually chose to resort to tube feeding to make sure she got the nutrition she needed. Fact is, half the people take their lives. With the help of caregivers, family, and friends, they have a chance and a will to carry on. Many in the medical field have no answers for ATN.
