I was a patient of his for years, I'm so sorry to hear of this happening.  He helped me and was a very kind and genuine good person.  He will be missed by many. Prayers for his family.

I was Dr Z’s patient for many years and he always treated me like a human rather than just an another troubled veteran.  We only met via video teleconference but each time I was always greeted with such a warm smile that made me feel at ease and provoked a sense of openness that I so often struggled to find in other practitioners.  I learned of his passing via a VA letter and then realized after reading the obituary that he and I spoke just a few days before his death.  His last words to me while grinning ear to ear was “take care my friend and be well”,   It’s not often that I feel a level of comfort in the medical community like I did with Dr Z.  I’ll miss our candid conversations.

Until we meet again, take care my friend and be well as you look down upon those who truly valued your influence on our lives.

So sorry for your loss!! He was a very kind and considerate man!! Have been a patient of his for many years, and can say he really cared!! He will be truly missed😢.
I have been a patient of Dr. Zs for many years, and he was a constant source of comfort and strength for me. It is rare to find someone so dedicated to their craft and their patients. He will be deeply missed.
Dr Z really cared about us Veterans. So easy to talk to I had many great appointments with him. He will be missed He has changed so many lives
I'm really going to miss him. He really cared about all us vets and it showed in our sessions. It's a shock and great sadness.

I am writing on behalf of my husband Paul who is a Gulf War veteran with a brain injury. Paul has many service-connected mental and neurological illnesses and no longer knows how to use a computer. I received the phone call today about the passing of who we always called "Dr. Z" and burst into tears. Dr. Z was by far the very best psychiatrist Paul has ever had here in Utah. He was effective, engaging and funny! He was also very inclusive of me in all therapy sessions as Paul's F/T VA Spouse Caregiver. Paul struggles with addiction and no one was better at working him through his struggles than Dr. Z. He was a blessing in our lives. Since Paul's therapy sessions were on speaker I could hear and engage. My favorite memory is one session in which all Paul talked about were his cats. I interrupted and asked Dr. Z why they were talking about Paul's cats vs. doing therapy. Dr. Z told me that Paul speaking about what brings him joy is indeed therapy. I laughed out loud! So true for a patient who struggles with addiction. We are both devastated by the passing of a wonderful psychiatrist and person. Our love and prayers to Dr. Zolcik and his family during this time of sorrow and strength. Yes, we will donate to his memorial bench - honored to do so.

Dr. Z was a light in the darkness for many veterans. He always made me feel that my concerns and opinions were valid and respected. I always looked forward to his smile and gentleness. I hope his family can find comfort in memories that fill their hearts with joy and love. Rest in peace.
I met Dr. Z at the Ogden Clinic and he guided me for over eight years. He was always extremely kind, encouraging, and would make himself available, rearranging his schedule whenever I sent him a message. I wish his family knew what a tremendous impact he made on my life. I was shocked and saddened beyond words when I was notified of his passing today. I wish I could thank him personally for the impact he had on my life. He helped me make it to retirement. I will always remember him and his wonderful sense of humor, encouragement and compassion. May he rest in peace, my sincere condolences to his wife and children on the loss of this beautiful soul.
I was a patient of Dr. Zolcik since about 2018. He helped me many times. As a disabled veteran he helped me through some dark times. He also helped my wife through my issues. I am very sad to hear of his passing. I truly admired him and looked up to him. He was always available whenever I needed anything and would respond to my messages I sent him within minutes. I have been talking about him for the last few days since I heard of his passing. I am still in shock that I will never be able to speak to him again. I am sure his family members are all in much more pain then us veterans he helped. But I truly appreciate everything he did for all us veterans he helped. He was a true blessing and will be deeply missed. I thank you all for sharing him with us. Thank you.

Dr. Z was such a kind and compassionate man. He helped my husband, who is a disabled vet with severe PTSD for years. He was always immediately available when we were in crisis. My heart goes out to his family.

Rest in Peace.

My condolences to Wojciech's family. I first met Dr.Z in Ogden at the old clinic he had been my psychiatrist for many years and a friend whenever I was needing something he was there . I miss him as a patient and person . Dr.Z you are truly missed .

My name is Ryan and I was a patient of Dr Zolcik, he was one of the best doctors I’ve ever had/known. I’m proud to say he was also my friend. He genuinely cared about the wellbeing of people and always wanted to help others. This is a loss for EVERYONE who knew him.  I can truly say the world is a darker place now that he is gone. With great love and respect “goodbye my friend”

Very respectfully, Ryan Ivacic

I’ll think of you whenever I make biscotti. God Bless.

I have never known another Psychiatrist who treated patients with such humanity, compassion, and grace. I learned more from working with him than any other professor or doctor. He took the time to talk to me and listen to me. He genuinely care about people…those he treated and those he worked with. We laughed a lot. We ate pierogis. We listened to eminem. We became friends. I think he made a lot of friends with his big heart. The world truly lost a good one.
Thinking of you.  Such a lovely remembrance of Wojciech.
