Winters's obituary
Winters Oliver (Butch) Hope was born in Natchez, MS on January 15, 1938 and went home to be with God on November 5, 2022. He passed into eternity quietly at home surrounded by love, with his family present and many friends that had visited him in the days prior, yet he was the one that continuously expressed the love he had for his dear ones. He grew up and was so very fond of the Panama Canal Zone where he had many friends and fun times that he often spoke of. Many of those friends he stayed connected to throughout his life. Life took him many places even to the White House where he worked as an electronics expert during the Lyndon B. Johnson administration.
He is survived by his loving wife Alice Hardwick Hope, daughter and son-in-law Marla and Gene Kenney and son and daughter-in-law Dr. Ken and Claudia Hope. His grandchildren Tre’ and Anna Kenney, Kevin and Claire Kenney, Dr. Natalie Hope, Steven Hope and Sabrina Hope. He is also survived by his nephews: Maj. Winters (Eddy) Hope (USA, Ret.) his wife Nora and children Laura Hope Benner, and Stepchildren Russell, Cade and Christina Patton and nephew Lt. Col. Dan Hope (USA, Ret.), his wife Lisa and children Logan, Gavin, and Brie. He also leaves his great granddaughters Mia and Zoe Kenney.
