Some of my best memories of my brother go back to when we were in High School. I didn’t go anywhere without my brother. Mainly because my mom wouldn’t let me and he was my only ride. Hahaha! But Willie use to like to drive fast. When I was a Senior in HS and he was a Freshman at A&M Kingsville, Willie and I would go for “joy rides” around the town. There really wasn’t much to do in Kingsville. Every time he took me back home to Pan Am , there was this one gravel road that we would drive on. Willie would drive really fast on that part of the road and turn the steering wheel to do a 180 turn. The gravel would make the car spin almost out of control.....all the while we were both screaming “turn and burn!” It sounds crazy now...and I think we could have really hurt ourselves... maybe even flipped the car... but we were young, stupid, brave and had our whole life in front of us to be serious. We laughed so hard every time we did that! All the laughing we did together is probably what I miss the most.
